Mary Lea Dutton

Mary Lea Dutton, 69, of Frisco, TX passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mary Lea was born on January 21, 1949 in Oklahoma City, OK to Joseph and Inez Gibson. Mary Lea was a Norman, OK native and a lifelong Sooner fan. She was happily married to Randy Dutton, who preceded her in death, for 35 years. They resided in Oklahoma City and, later-on, Tulsa. Mary Lea cherished being a mother more than anything. While her daughter, Tiffany, was small, she stayed home and was active in the PTA and was always supportive in all of her daughter’s sporting events and other activities. Mary Lea especially loved traveling with her family- her favorite vacations were cruises, and her favorite destination was Italy. She also had a lifelong love of reading, and even though Randy gave her a Kindle, she still preferred reading a paperback book. Mary Lea also spent many summers with her family at Grand Lake and enjoyed watching the sun set from the back of the boat. She was also an avid sports fan- watching OU football and basketball and the “real” Boston Celtics with Larry Bird and Kevin McHale were her two favorite past times.
Mary Lea is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Dutton, of Frisco, TX and her stepson, Adam Dutton, of Austin, TX. Her parents and her husband preceded her in death.
Services to remember Mary Lea will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018, 1:00 pm at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, 7801 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK.
