Mary Sue Livengood Hunter, age 88, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at home peacefully and surrounded by loved ones.
Mary Sue was born March 25, 1931, in Watonga, Oklahoma, to Aaron Smith and Lorene Threadgill Smith. She graduated with honors from Hinton High School in 1948, marrying John Robert Livengood that same year and setting upon a life journey devoted to family, friends and God. Work outside the home included Greater Research Center in Dallas and the University of Oklahoma. In her later years, her dedication to others stayed constant and her volunteer work at Norman Regional Hospital brought her great joy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years, and eldest son Johnny.
Mrs. Hunter is survived by Bobby R. Hunter, whom she married on February 23, 2002, son Mike Livengood and his wife, Judy; daughter Debbie Hardy and her husband, Rick; and daughter-in-law Michelle; sister Dixie Kindrick of Fort Cobb; grandchildren Amity Garwood, Robert Hardy, Angela Stewart, Tyler Hardy, Jennifer Mazer and Allyson Boan; and 18 grandchildren. She was loved by Regina Wilcox, Bruce Hunter, Diane Gentges, Jordan Gentges, Rachel Gentges, Elizabeth Tepen and Jeremy Wilcox.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman; funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Northeast Baptist Church with interment at IOOF Cemetery.
