Mary 'Eloise' (Loeffelholz) Adams

August 3, 1937 ~ May 12, 2023 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Tribute

 

Mary ‘Eloise’ Adams (Loeffelholz) passed away peacefully on May 12, 2023.  Eloise was born August 3, 1937, to Tony and Marie Loeffelholz at the Family Farm located at NW 36th and Main Street in Norman, OK; she was a lifelong resident.  Eloise was a student of New Hope Rural School and received her diploma from St. Joseph High School in Norman, OK.  She was a proud graduate of Hills Business College in Oklahoma City, OK.

 

Eloise lived a very active life.  She was involved in many organizations which included all four of her children and her community.  She was a Cub Scout Leader, Brownie Leader, and Girl Scout Leader, homeroom mother, and served the PTA for many years.  She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church in Norman, OK, where she belonged to the Women’s Club, to which she received Woman of the Year for several years and held many offices.  She was a co founder of St. Monica’s Guild and served in many positions including President.  She never missed a chance to volunteer for all of their projects including help serve and clean up for the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner.  She also volunteered for many years at Norman Regional Hospital.  Eloise and her husband Lloyd were members of the Golden Agers and, together, were very active for several decades with the Norman Silver Spur’s Square Dance Club, where they each held several offices.

 

Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Joseph Adams of 42 years; sister, Loretta Jean Loeffelholz of Norman; brother-in-law, Jack Burns; and niece, Janice Burns, both of Houston, TX.

 

She is survived by four children, Steve Adams and wife Cyndy of Norman, Joyce Stout of Noble, Teresa Adams of Norman, and David Adams of Norman; three grandchildren, Andrea Claborn and husband Todd of Chattanooga, OK, Ronnie Littlecreek of Norman, and Tyler Adams and wife Miranda of Norman; and great grandchildren, Leslie Bigaouette Serrano and partner Sara, Dylan Jones, London Bigaouette, Kara Littlecreek, Wyatt Bruce, and Owen Adams.  Eloise is also survived by brother, Jerry Loeffelholz and wife Elizabeth of Norman; sister, Betty Loeffelholz of Norman; nephew Gary Loeffelholz and wife Carol of Oklahoma City; niece and Goddaughter, Debi Loeffelholz of Lexington, OK; sister-in-law, Loraine Burns; and niece Karyn Burns, both of Houston TX.

 

Eloise is with the Lord now.  Her job here on Earth is done.  She had a heart of gold and would always help anyone in need.  She was loved and will be missed deeply.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels or St. Joseph’s Parish, both in Norman, OK.
