Michael R Griffin, of Norman, OK, passed from this life on Thursday, November 16th 2023, at the age of 58. He was born on April 15th 1965, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of James and Zephrein Griffin (Dildy).
Mike graduated from Central High School in Little Rock, in 1983 and then went to the University of Arkansas where he met the love of his life Beverly Ann Bradley. They married on October 27th 1990 and had a blissful 33+ years of marriage and 2 loving children, Cedric and Ciera.
He served four years in the Army National Guard and four years active duty in the U.S Marine Corps until he was honorably discharged in June 1990. For the past 28 years, Mike touched many lives through his career with the Social Security Administration, starting as a customer service representative until his retirement on September 30th 2022 as district manager of the Oklahoma City office.
He faithfully served in multiple ministries at Harvest Church and subsequently Quest Church in Norman, OK for the past 21 years.
He will be remembered as a kind hearted, extremely generous and hard-working man of God. Mike was always known for his hugs and the love he had for wife and children. He loved talking and laughing on the phone with his siblings and in-laws, trying new restaurants and listening to traditional gospel choirs.
He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband and father and brother, uncle and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Zephrein Griffin, his father and mother-in-love, Curtis and Mary Bradley, his niece Blakeley Miles, nephew David White Jr. and brother-in-law and friend, Michael Bradley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Beverly A. Griffin, his children whom he adored, son Dr. Cedric Michael Griffin and wife, Kendall Griffin of Broken Arrow, OK and daughter Ciera Maya Griffin of Norman, OK. Mike has four sisters, Bettye Griffin Miles of Little Rock, Thelma Pumphrey and husband Joe of Little Rock, Dorothy J. Dykes and husband Rufus of Brandon, MS and Claudia Nevels of Houston, TX and one brother Larry J. Griffin of Little Rock, AR. He also leaves to cherish his memory, seven brothers-in-law, Isaac C. Bradley (Okcha), of Harker Heights, TX, Terry Bradley (Irene) of Moreno Valley, CA, Edward Bradley of Aurora, CO, Harry Bradley of Memphis, TN, John Bradley (Emma) of West Memphis, AR, Curtis Bradley Jr. (Ola) of Midwest City, OK, and Lawrence Turner (Geri) of Wildomar, CA. Along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Family will receive friends on Friday, November 24th from 6 to 8 p.m at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman, OK. Services will be held at 11 a.m on Saturday, November 25th at Quest Church in Norman, OK followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Norman, OK concluding with a family and friends meal to be served at Quest Church immediately following the burial.
