Muriel Rimmer

Muriel Rimmer, age 97, of Norman, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023.  She was born February 17, 1925, in Addington, Oklahoma, to the late Roy and Hortense McGinnis. 

Muriel married Don Rimmer on December 21, 1944.  They enjoyed 62 years together until his death in 2007.  She retired from Norman Regional Hospital as a laboratory clerk.  Muriel was active in the Order of the Eastern Star and the Home Demonstrations Club.  She worked their booth at the county fair, and she won awards on her own handcrafts at the fair over the years.  She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, painting and ceramics.  A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be deeply missed.

Muriel is survived by her daughter, Linda J. Ray; two sons, Jim Rimmer and his wife Betsy, and Charles Rimmer and his wife Diane; six grandchildren, Windy Johnston, Andrea Kaupp, Melissa Crawford, Captain Jason Rimmer, Darci Poe and Jed Rimmer; and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and her husband, Muriel was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Lillie Rimmer.
