Myrel Evelyn Gill

Myrel Evelyn Gill, 92, passed away August 21, 2019.  She was born April 29, 1927, to the late Everet and Hazel Steward, in Checotah, Oklahoma.  She resided there as a small child and lived her entire life in and around the Norman area.  Myrel was employed by Gilt Edge Dairy and retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas after many years of service.  She loved to dance, enjoyed gardening and grew the most delicious tomatoes.  She was of the Baptist faith.  A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Vester Gill, in 1994; her daughter, Evelyn Green; brother, Orval Steward; and sister, Leota Deaton.  Survivors include her daughter, Kay Madden and husband Jim; son, Keith Gill and wife Carol; three grandchildren, Travis Madden (Shannon), Tracy Huntley (Shannon) and Nick Gill (Kim); and seven great grandchildren, Jake Madden (Taylor), Logan Madden, Mackie Madden, Emma Huntley, Ryan Huntley, Ben Huntley and Grady Gill.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 23, 2019, at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman beginning at 10:00am until the funeral service at 11:00am.  Interment will follow at Norman I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
