Nina June (Kennedy) Henninger, 86, Ardmore, passed away on May 5, 2019 in Norman, Oklahoma. She was born June 9, 1932 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Joseph Oliver “Ollie” and Alice Frances (Ray) Kennedy. Nina June attended Wynnewood schools through ninth grade, when the family then relocated to the Elmore City area. Upon graduating from Elmore City High School in 1950, “June” had been recognized for her ambitious desire of learning, her love of history and according to the Badger yearbook, “her quiet ways with a double whammy smile.” In 1951, June married Harry H. Henninger, also of Elmore City, and became an avid homemaker who loved cooking, art, music, movies, books, social and community activities. Throughout their 63 years of marriage, Nina June and Harry resided in Duncan, Enid, and finally Ardmore, Oklahoma for 40 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, worked at polling stations during election years and enjoyed giving historical programs at local organizations. She was an avid lover of genealogy. She never missed her children’s baseball games, theatrical productions and various other activities. Never forgetting her high school, she was always eager to reacquaint with old friends and teachers at Elmore City reunions. Nina June will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she will be remembered for her sweet, caring nature, humor and a smile that could brighten the day. Nina June was preceded in death in 2014 by her husband, Harry. She is survived by her three children, Sandra Moore of Norman, Sheila Fields and husband Todd of Oklahoma City, Harry Kevin Henninger and wife Rachel of Ardmore; eight grandchildren, Christine, James, Julie, Aaron, Ashley, Kate, Conlan, Josh; four great grandchildren Gabriela, Isabel, Jackson and Hunter. Also surviving is her sister, Elaine Kennedy of Denton, Texas; one niece, two nephews and their children. Nina June’s family was her greatest love in her life.
