O. Wayne Turner, 81, of Norman, passed away March 30, 2021. He was born August 10, 1939, in Galveston, Texas, to the late Oscar Peter Turner and Anna Bell Robbins Trahan. After graduating high school, Wayne served six years in the U.S. Army. He was a sales supervisor and in operations in the oil fields for many years. After retiring from oil and gas, he became an HVAC mechanical engineer. Wayne was a Mason and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Norman. He enjoyed oil painting, making stained glass, music and playing guitar, eating seafood, and traveling the country in his RV with his wife, Wilma.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Wilma Turner; five children, Tanya Young, Wayne Turner and his wife Tina, Todd Turner, Beth Russell and her husband David, Jeff Nix and his wife Brandy; one sister, Brenda Delafield and her husband Jack; eighteen grandchildren, Amber, Heather, Joshua and Anna Young, Rachel Trevino, Christopher Todd, Levi, Austin, Taylor and Tyler Turner, Whittley Lutz, Graeson Turner, Kade and Caroline Russell, DJ, Brody, Jaxon and Jayce Nix; eight great grandchildren; and two nephews, Clint and Jason Delafield. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Tori Turner; son-in-law, David Young; and daughter-in-law, Michelle Turner.
