Ophelia Leona (Lairson) Boggs, age 87, of Noble, passed away July 3, 2022. She was born December 19, 1934, in Lexington, Oklahoma, to the late Alvin and Ina Lairson. Ophelia attended school in the 1940s in a one room schoolhouse in Noble where she made life-long friends. She was on the 1952 Girls State Championship Basketball team from Noble and was an avid softball player.
Ophelia served as secretary for the Noble High School Alumni Committee for over 20 years. She was also active in the Noble/Cleveland County Historical Society. She was a long-time member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church and served a song leader for a number of years.
Her passion was gardening, and she enjoyed sharing the vegetables she grew with others. Ophelia started a community garden in Noble for senior citizens. A loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her son, Parker Boggs and Becky Hale; daughter, Kelly Ruth Walker; brother, Granville ‘G.C’ Lairson; four grandchildren, Jeremy Boggs, Stacie Boggs, Gerrod Wildey and Paul Wildey; five great grandchildren, Austin Boggs, Graysen Webster, Mackenzie Boogs, Maddox Boggs and Robin Wildey; and dear friends, Joyce and Alice.
In addition to her parents, Ophelia was preceded in death by her three sisters, Betty Thompson, Iva Holmes and Beatrice Lairson.
