Patricia Hansen King, age 73, of Norman, passed away March 6, 2021. She was born January 22, 1948, in Ortonville, Minnesota, to the late Robert and Esther Elaine Gallagher. Patricia graduated from OU, and was a teacher of science, English and photography at Rosary Elementary and Bishop McGuinness High School. She started a photography club at Bishop McGuinness and was very popular with her students. Later, she had a successful career as a sales representative of college textbooks with Wadsworth Publishing. Her job took her to Chicago, and she fell in love with the city. She and her husband, Gary, were married there on St. Patrick’s Day in 2001.
After retirement, Patricia and Gary enjoyed traveling around the world. She was also a volunteer reading to children and with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Her other hobbies included photography, gardening, yoga and zumba classes, and taking long walks around her neighborhood. Her favorite times were those spent with her grandchildren, going to their activities and making videos with them.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Gary King; two sons, Rob Hansen and Trey Hansen both of Oklahoma City; two step-daughters, Kasi McLaughlin and husband Ross and Kendra Sims both of Tulsa; four grandchildren, Owen Hansen, Andrew McLaughlin, Riley Sims and Marley Sims; one brother, Mike Gallagher and his wife Julia of New Mexico; one sister, Molly Zeringue of Louisiana; her cousin, Kimberlie Gednetz of Ohio; and her beloved white lab, Goldie.
