Patricia Kay Summers

January 1, 1933 ~ November 26, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years Old
After a brief illness and hospital stay in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Patricia Kay Uhles Summers, with her children at her bedside, entered Heaven on November 26, 2017. Born January 1, 1933 in Duncan, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of her late parents William Charles Jones of Birmingham, Alabama and mother Irene McDowell Burgess of Norman, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her loving companion Robert Jerry Johnson of Norman, Oklahoma, her son Buzz Uhles of Norman, and most recently her beloved dogs Sprite and Tina Turner.
She is survived by her son William G. Uhles of Norman, daughter Patricia Kay Newberry and her husband Daniel A. Newberry of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and her son Robert O. Uhles of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her granddaughters Krysta Kay James and husband Mitch K. James of Owasso, Oklahoma and Natalie Danielle Thompson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her great grandsons Kaden and Ben James of Owasso, Oklahoma and Logan and Truitt Thompson of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her brother John O. Jones and his wife Charlotte of Houston, Texas. Lastly, she is survived by Opie, her new rat terrier puppy who made her smile.
Patricia graduated from Norman High School in 1951 and faithfully attended alumni functions until her move to Tulsa in 2015. She married and divorced twice in her lifetime, first to the late Jimmie Rudolph Uhles of Oklahoma, City and later to Warren Summers of Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Patricia was a formidable business woman throughout her lifetime as many land men inevitably learned and could attest. She artfully crafted loving and often humorous nick names for family members and pets, and was rewarded when her grand-daughters christened her Honey Grams or more commonly “HG”. She loved cooking and entertaining for her family in homes she skillfully decorated in Scottsdale, Arizona, Norman and finally Tulsa. She was an avid gardener, cultivating stunning roses, flower beds and landscaping. Her personal style, natural beauty and youthful humor belied her age.
Patricia believed in God as her creator, Jesus Christ as her savior and the Holy Spirit as her Comforter. Her life will be celebrated at Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook St., Norman, Oklahoma on Thursday, November 30th at 10:30 am, followed by interment at the IOOF Cemetery, Norman, Oklahoma. Donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Center in remembrance of Patricia; loving companion, mother, grand-mother, great-grandmother and friend. “You were missed the instant we realized we might have to let you go.”
