Paul Marion Rothermel, III, entered this life on December 12, 1952, a cold and snowy day in Boston, Massachusetts, a fact that his father reminded him of each year on his birthday.
Paul lived life fully and on his own terms. He loved telling of the exploits and adventures with his many friends, especially with his “boys", James Scott, Rob Moseley and Steve Bowen, whom he loved like they were his own sons.
Paul loved all things outdoors, especially gardening, hunting and fishing. During his lifetime, he built and ran a successful Garden Center/Landscape business in Dallas, Texas. After his marriage to Manette, he moved to Oklahoma and was Supervisor of Landscape and Grounds at the University of Oklahoma from which he retired in 2016.
Paul is survived by his wife, Manette; two brothers, Tony Rothermel of New York City and Todd Rothermel and his wife Kimberly of Houston, Texas; his step-daughter, Jennifer Reed and her husband Jesse; and his step-son, Graham Wiley and his wife Mandi. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Michael, Braelyn and Julie Reed, Evan, Anna and Luke Wiley. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul M. Rothermel, Jr. and his mother, Joyce E. Rothermel.
