Susan and family,
So very sad to hear of Paul's passing and at way too young an age. He was part of that exciting age of broadcasting along with my own late husband, Bill, when all things were possible. Though we had long ago lost touch I could see from his obituary what a full and wonderful life you two had made since that time.
With deepest sympathy,
Billie

Jim and I were stunned when we read Paul's obituary in the paper yesterday. We are sad and praying that God's presence and comfort are surrounding you and the family. I remember meeting you, Susan, at Jackson Elementary School and you were putting up owls on your classroom window with each student's name. I thought that was the coolest idea ever! You and Paul invited us to your home- you were our first married friends who owned a home- on many occasions and we enjoyed your hospitality, simple meals and laughter. Jim remembers them as a time when we were "young and healthy." Thanks for all those early Norman memories of novice teaching, the cow house, and everything OU. We send our love and our sympathy, as we look to Kingdom Standard Time when we will have run the race with endurance for the prize set before us. Paul is a bit ahead of us!

Paul Wise was one of the finest people God put on this earth. I feel so privileged to have worked for Paul and to have been adopted into his and Susan's extended family. Paul hired me to be his Local Sales Manager at the NBC affiliate in 1989 and that's where I got to meet Susan, David, Amy, Margie and Larry. Then I moved to St. Louis in 1992 to work for Paul again at KPLR-TV for four years. I have such fond memories of holidays and dinners at the Wise house.
Paul had the most incredible ethics and ability to clearly see the right path to take in everything he did. He was heroic to me in so many instances that we encountered in our work. Paul was extremely loyal and always true to his word. I also have great memories of Paul's spontaneous antics. He loved the goofiest movies. The only time I ever "skipped work" was with Paul. One afternoon he walked into my office and said, "Let's go. We have a meeting." We got in his car and to my surprise, he drove to a movie theater where we watched some silly comedy, and then went back to work.
The world has lost a very special man and my heart is broken in two.

I'm so sorry to hear of Paul's passing. I can only echo the thoughts of Mr. Walck. He was one of the guys we younger guys looked up to (only three years younger but in high school seemed like a lot). He could do everything, and did. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew him. God Bless.

Paul was one of me and my brothers heroes, growing up in Tecumseh. The Wises' lived about a block away from us on Park Street. When Paul was probably about an 8th grader, I was a 4th grader at that time, and Paul would play baseball with us at Krouch elementary school across the street from where the Wises' lived. He also confronted some guys in our neighborhood who were about his age that were bullying my brothers and I, Paul set them straight and they never bothered us again! Mr. Wise was the principal at Barnard Elementary school at this time and was my principal when I attended the 5th and 6th grade there. We really thought Paul was a great guy and he was. In High School Paul was a standout athlete and student that the entire student body looked up to. He was the quarterback (star) of the football team, starter on the basketball team and baseball team and also ran track. In 1964 he was named as THS most Athletic male. Paul was well liked and respected and I tried to emulate him as I got older. I could say many more good things about him. I wish to extend my sincere sympathy to all of his family, may God comfort you! So Long Paul!
