Ramona Hamilton Urice

Ramona Hamilton Urice was born in Oklahoma City on May 30, 1928, to Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Osborne Hamilton and died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, January 1, 2022.

She graduated from McAlester High School and attended The University of Oklahoma, graduating with a degree in journalism.  It was at OU that she met and married James A. Urice from Midland, Texas.

Ramona was a lifelong Episcopalian and an active conservative Republican.  During her travels with James, a petroleum geologist, she was instrumental in the progression of several missions into Episcopal parishes.

Ramona was preceded in death by James, her husband of 71 years.  She is survived by two sons, Dr. Tom Urice and wife Meredith of Norman, and Rex Urice, J.D. of Oklahoma City; her sister, Mrs. Don Curtis; her brother, Cecil Hamilton and wife Carolyn; and five beloved granddaughters, Jenny Urice, Julie Liddell, Katie Maddox, Lily Urice and Alexandra Kokoszka, each of whom carries with them a piece of her wit, humor and optimistic outlook on life.  Her great grandchildren brought joy to her final years as well.
