November 28, 1946 ~ October 16, 2021 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Tribute

Rhana Lynn Robison True died peacefully at her home in Norman, OK, on October 16, 2021.  She was born in Altus, OK, on November 28, 1946, one of five children born to Guy Ward and Velma Juanita Shields Robison.  After graduating from Altus High School in 1965, Rhana attended Cameron Junior College for two years and received her bachelor’s degree in French from the University of Oklahoma.

While at OU, she met and married Charles Wadsack in 1970.  She worked full-time after graduation to put Charles through law school.  After his graduation, they lived in Newfoundland, Canada. While living there, daughter, Lisa Anne Wadsack was born.  Upon his leaving the Navy, they moved to Norman where Rhana helped Charlie set up his law practice.  Following twelve years of marriage, they divorced eight days before Lisa’s sudden and unexpected death at the age of six.

To serve others in times of loss, Rhana returned to school at the University of Central Oklahoma, where she received her master’s degree, summa cum laude, in counseling psychology.  After graduation, Rhana worked as a psychotherapist at Northwest Baptist Church, Our Lord’s Community Church, and the Rapha Unit at Willowview Psychiatric Hospital.  She taught as adjunct faculty at various colleges and universities, and wrote course syllabi and several articles on psychology/counseling topics.

Throughout her life, Rhana pursued her love of singing.  She performed classical music in churches, in an opera company and in various community settings.  Singing was a huge part of her soul, as was Christ.  She successfully merged her two passions as often as possible.

In July of 1988, Rhana married Lt. Col. James S. True.  They were married for thirty-three years.  Jim and Rhana adopted a beautiful little baby girl, Elizabeth Rhana True, in 1995.

Rhana dearly loved her husband and daughters.  Rhana's kindness, consideration, openness, and gentle sense of humor attracted many others to her.  She was loved and respected by many.  An automobile accident in 1999 caused her a lot of pain and loss of activity for the rest of her life.

Rhana was preceded in death by her father, Guy Ward Robison; her mother, Velma Jaunita Shields Robison; her daughter, Lisa Anne Wadsack; and her older sister, Pat Robison Canada.

She is survived by her husband, James; daughter, Elizabeth; her sister, Kathy Bayers and husband Jim; her brothers, Kevin Robison and Mark Robison and their families; and her step sons, Judson True and Randall True and their families.

There will be a public memorial tribute at a future time.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Second Chance Animal Sanctuary, 4500 24th Ave NW, Norman, OK 73069.
