Tribute

Richard Gerald Cain, age 77, of Oklahoma City, passed away August 6, 2020.  He was born November 19, 1942, in Oklahoma City to the late Clarence Boyd Cain and Ruby May Clark.

Richard loved God with his whole heart. Richard genuinely loved people and always addressed others as ‘brother’ or ‘sister.’  He was a member of St. Thomas More University Parish in Norman.

Richard could carry on a conversation with anyone and made everyone he talked to feel comfortable and at ease. He was a great story teller, who loved to laugh. A self-proclaimed philosopher, he loved the deep things in life as well as the simple things. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and listening to music on the porch while enjoying a cold beer.

Richard leaves behind a legacy that continues to deeply impact his family and friends. His family is tremendously grateful for his life and influence.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Callie Cain; and his siblings, Jim, Billy, Bette, Bob, Sharon, Charles, Donna and Gary.

He is survived by one son, Richard Cain; two daughters, Lisa Gibson and Michelle Pruett and her husband Ken; ten grandchildren, David Cain, Macey Rasmussen and her husband Bryan, Shelby Pruett, Kelsey Pruett, Austin Pruett, Hilary Sanchez and her husband Alex, Amanda Gibson, Caitlin Gibson, Robert and his partner Michelle, and Daniel Cherry; eight great-grandchildren, Oliver, Christopher, Eleanor Sanchez, Robert Gibson Jr., Brandon Gibson, Rakai, Adrianna, and Breanna; one brother, Paul Cain and his wife Rose; one sister, Judy Cain; and numerous nieces and nephews.
