Robert “Bob” Arthur Moore, 60, of Goldsby, Oklahoma, passed away at home on Saturday, October 10, from a battle with colon cancer, surrounded by family and friends.
Bob was born February 23, 1960, in Harrisville Township, Michigan to Viola “Thornton” Moore and William “Billy” Moore. He grew up and graduated high school in Oscoda, Michigan, where, according to his sisters, his favorite pastime was torturing them. He later joined the Army where he served as a Combat Engineer, and obtained the rank of Sergeant prior to his Honorable Discharge in 1985. After his service, Bob settled in Oklahoma where he married Linda, and raised his family.
Before his retirement in 2019, Bob was extremely successful in his career in gaming and was a co-founder of Integrity Gaming and its related companies. Many of his friends who met him during this time affectionately referred to him as “Bingo Bob.” After retirement, Bob formed a partnership with his friend Bobby Sloan of Sloan Shop in Oklahoma City, where he pursued his passionate hobby of acquiring and rebuilding classic cars.
Bob made friends where ever he went. He loved spending time with family and friends at his lake home on Lake Texoma, where he enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing with his friend Richie Thomas, or just hanging out on the patio enjoying a few beers and watching football. Bob never got tired of picking on his wife, sons, or friends, which he accomplished with a great deal of skill and humor. He often said that the thing he was most proud of and grateful for, his biggest accomplishment, was raising sons who grew up to be good men. Bob was blessed with two beautiful granddaughters in 2019, who affectionately knew him as “Grumpa” and who brought him much joy.
Bob is survived by his wife of 30 years, Linda Angel, his sons Daniel Lazar and his wife Jennie, Matthew Thompson and his wife Stormie, Robert Moore and William Moore; his grandchildren Emory Lazar and Alexis Moore who were his heart and soul; his mother Viola Marshall and her husband Earl, sisters June Seboldt and her husband Terry, Patricia Pelaccio, Mary Ropp and her husband Greg, Suzanne Hurley and her husband Mike, Veronica Moore Martinelli, Karen West and her husband Lorne, and Stacy Nykoriak and her husband Dan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who were all greatly loved by him. Bob was predeceased by his father William “Billy” Moore.
Bob was larger than life, never met a stranger and lived life to its fullest. He will be remembered for his huge smile, his love of his family and friends, his sense of humor and his generous heart. Pursuant to his wishes, there will not be a formal service. If you would like to remember him with a memorial donation, please consider a gift to Missouri Military Academy of Mexico, Missouri, whose mission he passionately embraced, or to any charity of your choice.
