I knew Bob through his dedication to Boy Scout Troop 217 at St. Mark's. Bob volunteered his time, his equipment, and his knowledge so that hundreds of boys and their families could experience the benefits of scouting. He was also a mentor to me and many parents who became scout leaders. He left an indelible mark on Troop 217 and will not be forgotten.

To the Family,
You have our deepest sympathy and condolences in the loss of your loved one. May you find peace and comfort in God's word and in the wonderful promise Jesus made to us all at John 5:28,29.
Sincerely,
Sarah Mitchell

I met Bob back in 1997 when I became a master gardener and really appreciated the friendship that he showed me. We worked together on different events and projects over the years. I will miss the kind, welcoming smile that he always greeted me with.

Bob and I were best friends throughout HS & college. Went to rival HS & joined rival fraternities @ UD. We share Scouting & so many friends. Double-dated in the 1950 Ford with a flat tire on nearly every trip. Canoed together at the BSA Region 7 Canoe Base in wilderness WI, then joined the summer staff at Charles Howell Scout Reservation. That launched my life-long career in aquatics. After college, Bob was commissioned in the USAF and I in the Jesuits. Officiated at Bob's marriage to Ott in sticky Philadelphia heat of July 1976. I will miss Bob and our shared memories. God speed brother Eagle!
