AWFC (AW/NAC) Robert 'Bob' Lucas, United States Navy, Retired, age 52, of Oklahoma City, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 1:30 AM.

 

Chief Petty Officer Lucas is survived by his mother, Nilsa Pappas; sister, Jeanne Lucas-Gibeau; girlfriend, Sheryl Shrader; five children, Robert Lucas IV (Mate), Nelson Lucas (daughter-in-law Heather), Vasilli Lucas, Emily Lucas, Caleigh Lucas; and his six grandchildren, Iorek, Justin, Caiden, Peyton, Kyleigh and Charlette.  He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lucas; his stepfather, Bill Pappas; and his granddaughter, Carolynn Lucas.  He also leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, long-time friends, coworkers and his Navy Brothers and Sisters.

 

Chief Lucas retired from the United States Navy in 2011, after serving 24 years including service during Operation Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and the Global War on Terrorism.  He was awarded the Air Medal (with Oak Leaf Cluster), Navy Commendation Medal (with Gold Star), Army Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (with Silver Star), Good Conduct Medal (with Silver Star), National Defense Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Expert Rifle, and Expert Pistol Medals.  Robert was proud to be a Navy Chief Petty Officer.  Following his distinguished career in the Navy, Bob continued to serve his country as a support contractor on Navy and Air Force programs in Oklahoma City.
