Roy Lee Cole

Roy L. Cole, 84, of Norman, OK passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019. He was born February 11, 1935 in Norman, OK to David Edward Cole and Hilda Brannon Cole.

He grew up in Norman and attended Norman public schools. He married Janice Johns on September 5, 1987. Roy retired from the city of Oklahoma City. Roy enjoyed singing gospel music. He sang in senior centers and various churches. He also enjoyed working with his hands, art work, and fixing things.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving stepmother who raised him, Stella Annesley; his brother, David A. Cole; and his sister, Perma Byrd. Roy is survived by his wife, Janice; his daughters, Deresa and husband Gary Claybrook, and Kimberly and husband Mike Varner; his sisters, Cora Wright and Melba Winkenweder; his brother, Grady Cole; his grandchildren, Amber and husband Corey Denham, Jenny and husband Shawn Hoerr, Kagan Skinner, and Casey Hensley; eight great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.

The family will be present to receive friends from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2019. Visitation for Roy will be from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 16, 2019 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 17, 2019 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Norman IOOF Cemetery.
