Irene Alexander of Norman, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018. Irene was born April 30, 1922 in Dixie, Missouri to James and Ella Hughes.
She grew up in Fulton, Missouri and was a beautician and homemaker. She moved to Norman in 1943. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lee Roy Alexander, and her 6 siblings.
She is survived by her son Don Alexander and his wife Donann, her daughter Joyce Jackson, her granddaughters Shari Jackson, Shawn Houchin and husband Tim, Stephanie Boehm and husband Ted, and Melanie Casillas, great grandchildren Madison Houchin, Zachary Houchin, Elizabeth Houchin, Cooper Houchin, Lillian Boehm, Ryan Boehm, Layla Ransley, and Isabella Casillas. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church for over 50 years. During her stay at Rivermont, she continued to invite others to church and share her faith.
Services will be held at Havenbrook Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
