Steven Allen Irons was born on February 2, 1966, in McAlester, Oklahoma. He left us to be with the Lord on August 10, 2022.
He is survived by his sisters, Sotora Laws of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Brenda Laws of San Jose, California, Lillie Vee Laws of Atlanta, Georgia, and Angela Mrema of Ft. Worth, Texas; brothers, James Laws of Norman, Oklahoma, Maurice Laws of Dallas, Texas, Bradley Irons of Denver City, Texas, and Daryl Irons of Norman, Oklahoma; daughter, Aleya Irons of Norman, Oklahoma; sons, Andrew Irons of Norman, Oklahoma, Steven Dashawn Benjamin of Norman, Oklahoma, and T.J. Burden of Norman, Oklahoma; and two beautiful grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Irons, Jr.; mother, Mattie Irons; his brother, Johnny Irons, III; and his loving wife, Robin Irons.
Steven graduated from Lawton High School, where he played as a point guard for the basketball team. He managed in the retail food service industry at such places as Taco Bell and Grandy’s, and settled in as a manager for Love’s Travel Stops for several years. He was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. Steven enjoyed volunteer work coaching men in football, was an avid bodybuilder and an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners. He loved the motorcycle life on two wheels and shared the enthusiasm with his brothers.
Steven was a devoted family man who shared his love through family gatherings on holidays and festivities. He was loved by the people who worked with him and the people he worked for. We will miss his humor and beautiful smile.
