Steven 'Steve' D. Carlson

Steven ‘Steve’ D. Carlson, of Norman, passed away the 28th day of May, 2020.  He was born April 18, 1959, in San Diego, California, to Emil and Hannah (Forsberg) Carlson.

Steve grew up in Simi Valley, California, and attended Simi High where he excelled on the Varsity basketball team.  He married his lifelong sweetheart, SuAnne, in 1979.  He retired from General Motors after 30 years.  After which he began his second career as a landman for Texhoma Land Consultants.  He loved gardening, carpentry, and watching his sons and grandkids play sports.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Emil Carlson; and his mother, Hannah Carlson.  He is survived by his wife, SuAnne Carlson; his children, Chris Carlson and his wife Tracy, Joel Carlson and his wife Laura, and Spencer Carlson; his grandchildren, Kennedy, Knox, and Margot; his brother, Phil Carlson and his wife Diane; his sister, Caroline Reed and her husband Don; his sister, Ilene DeSpain; and many nieces and nephews.

Steve’s faith sustained him throughout the years and especially in the last months in his battle with cancer.  He was deeply loved and respected by all of his family and friends and will be greatly missed, but we look forward to being reunited in heaven.
