Kay, Cherly and Doug,
We first met Ted in the mid 60's as the North Sea Oil & Gas Exploration was getting underway;. and we shared the excitement of successes by Phillips and the industry in general.. The London setting was exceptional: the Natives were friendly; the job was challenging and rewarding; the Beattles were hot; and Petula Clark was singing"Down town" . It was England Swings Like a Pendulum Now...We loved it, we loved the folks we worked with and while we recognized the high caliber of our International Staff, it wasn't until much later we realized how fortunate we were to have a worldwide career among such great people,; people we were delighted to call friends. Ted was clearly among the very best. We will all miss him. I never found a good opportunity to tell him that I really wanted the job he took in The Hague, while Jenny and I, were off to Egypt. I am so pleased that Fetters gave me a heads up to call Ted a few weeks ago. We are so sorry we will not be in attendance to pay our respects. It is a long journey and after long winter, our little golf course opens for the summer season this Friday. Our sincere condolences..
Norm and Jenny Burnett
