Betty Breitenkamp/Kennedy (87) was born July 16, 1929, in Enid, OK and passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017, in Norman, OK after celebrating a wonderful Easter with family and friends.
While in Enid, Betty met her husband, Wilbur Breitenkamp, and together raised their three children. After Wilbur’s passing in 1991, Betty moved to Norman and continued to work for Dillard’s until retirement. You might recognize her from the Elizabeth Arden counter!
Betty then married Bill Kennedy, who passed in 2007, and moved into The Senior Cottages of Norman. She made many wonderful friends while living there. Her greatest joy was her rescue dog, Murphy.
Betty was a member of McFarlin United Methodist Church and attended Bible studies at the Senior Cottages.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Carmon Goff; husbands, Wilbur Breitenkamp and Bill Kennedy. She is survived by her children: Ginger Wetz (John), Randy Breitenkamp (Liz), and Kristy Ford (Mike). She is survived by eight grandchildren: Jennifer Coker, Melanie Ridgway, Jackie Bese, Sheri Wise, Sara Stuber, Brook Carlsen, Ryan Ford and Kori Ford and twelve great-grandchildren.
Betty’s family would like to thank her many caregivers for their dedication and friendships. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 25 at 2:00 pm at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel, 3401 Havenbrook Street, Norman, OK. The family has suggested donations be made to the Norman Animal Welfare Center or a charity of their choice.
