Lou, how great it was to be members in the Outer Banks Sunday School class with you and Gilbert and to enjoy attending OU athletic events together. Gilbert's love for OU was so strong that when I think "Boomer" in my mind, I can almost hear him say, "Sooner!"

Dear Aunt Lou, Teri, Anthony, DJ, and Drew

It is hard for us to find words to express our sorrow
for your loss with the passing of Uncle Gilbert. He
was an amazing man who was loved and respected by all.
I will never forget the first time we met when I was
maybe 4 or 5 and he pulled a quarter from my ear. He
was magic to me from that point on. He is in a better
place now though we know you miss him terribly. Please
know that we love you all and our hearts and prayers
are with you every day. We wish we could be with you
now but will plan to come and see you all soon.

Love, Butch, Marina, & Zach

Dear Lou Scrivner and family,
On behalf of the entire Central Oklahoma Corvette Club, I send you our prayers and sympathy. Gilbert was a part of our corvette family here in Oklahoma and will be missed. We understand his love for and passion for this American Icon that we all share, and respect and honor his enthusiasm and service, particularly his past term as President of the National Corvette Restorers Society. May his road to heaven be smooth and straight, may he have blue skies and tail winds on his journey there, and may his red C-7 have a permanent reserved parking space there.
Sincerely,
Fred Benenati and all the members of the Central Oklahoma Corvette Club

Lou, I just read the passing of Gilbert. Kay and I wish to express our deepest regards for you and your family. I pledged Lambda Chi Alpha in the fall of 1959. Gilbert was my pledge trainer. He help me to transfer from an awkward high school kid to a college man. He and I hit it off right from the start. I was so honored to be ask by him to be in your wedding. The weekend for the wedding was a great experience for me. That was the first time I had be in that part of the state and your folks were great. I don't remember who I stayed with but I remember they had a sunken tub. The first I had ever seen and used. It was a beautiful time. I am glad that we got to meet with you all when we moved to OK city in 2006. Gilbert was a great man and had a great heart. Kay and I have moved to Charlottesville, VA last summer to be near grandchildren. Once again. we are so sorry for your lost. Just remember that I am a better man because of Gilbert.

Lou - please accept my condolences for your loss of a fine mate and person. Gilbert and I worked together in Energy Systems from 1989 til his retirement. Gilbert was a great person to work with and very competent in his decisions. He did not even rub it in when his Sooners kicked the Longhorns big time on the football field. Of course, he kept that OU license plate with the holder stating " another ho-hum national championship". My prayers will be with you and your family as you heal from the loss of Gilbert.

We are so sad about Uncle Gilbert. We love you so much and will be praying that you can feel the comfort of our Heavenly Father. I'm sure Uncle Gilbert is keeping all the other angels laughing with his antics. I can imagine all the Little brothers that passed before him saying "welcome outlaw" as he entered Heaven. Dear Lou and Family:
Karen and I were both saddened to hear of Gil's passing. Did not realize that he had such demanding health issues. I have fond memories of my many discussions regarding OU sports programs - he was a super fan and we will miss his smiling face as he passes up and down the aisle at the Women's Basketball games - as well as our discussions in the Court Side lounge. Lou, our thoughts and prayers are with you as the family celebrates Gil's life and his contributions to so many friends and organizations. With heartfelt regards, Mike & Karen

Hi Lou, Sarilyn and I are sorry to hear about Gilbert. We all know that we are not going to be around forever. Just to mention that we enjoyed the time visiting with you and
Gilbert here on Talisman Street, Lake Jackson. Remember all the good times on this street with some 75 kids to make it a busy place. We still live at 113 Talisman Street and plan to do so until we can't do it anymore.

wishing you the best,

Hello Lou

Not sure you remember me, but I worked with Gilbert in Energy Systems at Dow Chemical.

I haven't seen you all in many years, but this picture looks exactly as I remember him...always a smile on his face and fun to be around. When I think of him, I think of a very pleasant man with a gentle smile who treated everyone with respect.

My prayers are with you as you learn to live without him - I know that will be difficult. I pray for you and your family in a huge loss. Gilbert was truly one of a kind person.

Love,

Donna
