Mary Janette (Marynette) Ruffin, 93, formerly of Norman, OK passed away on Friday, February 24th at
St. Simeon’s Episcopal Home is Tulsa, OK
Marynette was born in Moberly, Missouri on March 19, 1923 to John and Agnes Michael. She graduated from Brunswick High School in 1040 and the University of Missouri in 1943 where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She married Gerald E. Ruffin on August 1, 1943 in Brunswick, MO. They moved to Norman in 1970 with their two daughters, Kathleen and Carolyn. She continued her role as a housewife and mother and was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Military Wives Club and St. John’s Episcopal Church.
Marynette was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gerald. She is survived by her daughters: Kathleen Abercrombie and husband, Jerry of Tulsa, OK and Carolyn Brown and husband, Jim of Edmond, OK ; two grandchildren, Jason Abercrombie and wife, Margaret of Tulsa, Ok and Erin Abercrombie of Houston, TX.
Memorial Services will be held at St. Simeon’s Episcopal Home in Tulsa on Friday, March 3rd at 10:00 am and inurnment will be at 4:00 pm at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 235 W. Duffy St., Norman, OK the same day. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Local arrangements are under the care of Havenbrook Funeral Home
